Designed by Reichel Pugh, 'Australian Registered Ship' Carrera S is arguably the best Marten 49 ever built with loads of upgrades to ensure your racing or cruising experience are memorable every time.

Carrera S is equally capable of achieving your dreams of cruising to New Caledonia, winning your club Twilight series or achieving success in The Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.

Equipped with all the standard cruising features including transom swim platform with ladder, cockpit shower, cockpit dodger, gas barbecue, cockpit table and 2 differing boom shade tents, helm station anchor control and Spectra water maker (USA) installed for blue water cruising in the South Pacific.

Carrera S is a fully carbon fibre performance yacht, capable of a serious turn of speed in all weather conditions. One of the significant features of the Reichel Pugh 49 is the hydraulic lifting keel with a maximum draft of 3.6m, and min 2.1 m (7ft) allowing you to access any marina. This keel design enhances her outstanding upwind performance. The Southern Spar (NZ) mast and boom are carbon fibre, and the running rigging has been constantly maintained.

Carrera S has some stories to tell, she has successfully campaigned the 2019, 2021 and 2023 Sydney Hobart Races, the 2022 Melbourne Hobart Race,  Auckland Noumea Race, Groupama New Caledonia Race, Sydney Gold Coast Race, 4 x Melbourne King Is Race and Adelaide Port Lincoln Race. Hamilton Island, Airlie Beach and Port Lincoln Regattas always proving to be a very competitive racer.

Carrera S went through a major refit from December 2017 - March 2018 in Auckland, New Zealand.
Works included. Rod rigging. Mast and boom repainted plus CarreraS decals. Tri-light installed on mast. Boom vang re gassed and clear coated (& again in 2022). Cockpit and cabin top repainted (white). Topsides repainted (blue). All 6 cabin hatches replaced. Replaced timber veneer in galley, navigation station, main saloon seating, main bedroom wardrobe, cupboard and seat. Refinish all teak floors to new standard. Replaced all tap ware in galley, 2 heads and 2 showers. Water pump and accumulator replaced. Corroded valve components replaced. All interior light fittings replaced. Companionway stainless trim replaced. Upgraded B&G electronics. New Auto Anchor system installed. New B&G autopilot installed. Iridium Go installed (satellite phone). New anchor windless installed. The sail wardrobe and safety gear have been replaced since 2019. She has had continual electrical equipment upgrades over the past 5 years.
